Rules and Procedures for the Operation of The Edenwood Swim Club, Inc.

Pool Rules
General:
1. A Chairman for Pool Operations shall be the President of the Board and shall be responsible to the Board for the total operation of the pool. Additional members to assist the Chairman may be appointed at the discretion of the board.
2. The Chairman for the Pool Operations shall have the authority, with the approval of the Board, to hire and dismiss pool operating staff. Dismissed members shall have the right to appeal to the Board.
3. The individuals employed by the Board shall be referred to as the pool staff and shall report directly to the Pool Manager. The Pool Manager shall report directly to the Chairman for Pool Operations.
4. No alcoholic beverages or drugs shall be brought or consumed inside the pool enclosure. The Pool Manager or Acting Manager in charge has the authority to refuse admission or eject any person under the influence of drugs or
alcohol.
5. No child under 10 years of age shall be left at the pool without supervision by an adult. Said adult will be other than the lifeguard. For the purpose of this rule, any person 14 years of age or older will be considered an adult.
6. Complaints on pool operation should be made to the Pool Operations Chairman.
7. Complaints dealing with unbecoming conduct or rule infractions by members or guests shall be discussed with the Pool Operations Chairman.
8. Any suggestions for improving pool operations, safety, etc. may be submitted to the Pool Operations Chairman in writing. The Pool Operations Chairman will submit same with recommendations for any changes in pool rules to the Board of Directors for study and approval.
9. Pool Manager or Pool Operating Staff may dismiss from the pool area any person who breaks the rules, exhibits unbecoming conduct, used indecent language or fails to show evidence of his right to use the pool when requested. A written record of all disciplinary actions shall be kept by the Pool Operating Staff.
10. Any member breaking these rules is subject to a three (3) day suspension of pool privileges by the Pool Management. Members have the right to appeal any suspension by the Board. Suspensions of longer than three (3) days may be made by the Board only.
11. All persons using the pool or club area do so at their own risk and the Edenwood Swim Club, Inc. assumes no responsibility for either the safety or possessions of users of the property.
12. "Swim Attire" shall mean that article of clothing which is used only for swimming purposes, and which must be hemmed at all openings. No Bermudas or short pants with frayed edges will be allowed to be worn in the pool.
Pool Season and Hours of Operation:
The normal season of operation will be from June 1 through September 1.
The Pool Committee may operate the pool May 1 through June 1 and September 1 through October 1 as it deems advisable. The Board may adjust operation seasons or hours of operation as it deems necessary.
1. Pool hours for all members will be posted by the Pool Operating Staff.
2. Special nights, such as teen nights, adult nights, etc. may be scheduled in advance if the Board approves.
Pool Staff:
1. The Chairman for the Pool Operations shall be responsible for major repairs in the pool area. The Chairman for Pool Operations and the Chairman for Maintenance are responsible for the fulfillment of their responsibilities with the financial budget. Any repairs outside the approved budget allocation in excess of $75 must first be approved by the Board.
2. The senior staff employee shall be called the Pool Manager and his duties are those that concern the general operation of the pool. The Pool Operating Staff Managing Co. receives directions from the Chairman for Pool Operations.
3. The Board of Directors shall enforce changes in major policy - such as daily pool hours, opening and closing dates for the season and restrictions for the use of the pool, only with the advice and consent of the Chairman for Pool Operations.
4. The Pool Operating Staff Management Co. shall be responsible for the day to day operation of the pool including the ordering of supplies, enforcement of safety rules, assigning established hours of duty of lifeguards, etc.
5. Sufficient lifeguards will be employed to insure safety for the swimmers. The lifeguards are responsible to the Pool Operating Management Co. for duty assignments.
6. In the absence of the Pool Manager, the Acting Pool Manager shall assume the responsibilities of the manager.
Pool Admission:
1. All members and guests must be registered on the ledger provided by the Pool Operating Staff. Regular membership checks will be held.
2. Guests must be registered and accompanied by a member.
3. All members under age 18 years of age bringing a guest will be requited to have a written permission from the parent or guardian prior to the guest admitted to the pool. (Copies of permission slips are available from the Pool
Manager).
Guest Rules:
1. Bona fide guests are guests who are accompanied by a member as his or he actual guest and the required fees are paid by said member. No guests other than bona fide guests can be allowed.
2. Each member must register his or her guest upon entering the pool enclosure. The daily fee for bona fide guests will be as follows:
Age 6 or over: $3.00 per visit, Under 6: Free
There will be no fee for non-swimming bona fide guest of members who are not attired in swim suits who wish to
observe from the patio. More than 8 guests in any one day requires special permission from the Pool Operations Chairman.
No more than 3 paid visits per guest per season if they are from Cayce, West Columbia or Springdale. Other locations limited to 15 paid visits per season.
3. Members or a member from the member's family must accompany guests and members are responsible for the conduct of their guests, who shall be subject to all rules of the pool.
4. Only one admission per day shall be charged to each guest of any member.
5. The guest privileges of a member or members, may be suspended by action of at least two-thirds of the members of the Board, if in their opinion, the continued exercise of said guest privileges would be offensive to club members and/or detrimental to the best interest of the Club.
6. Any member with a bona fide house guest saying 14 days or longer will be issued identification on request to and approval by the Operations Chairman of the Board. This guest will be considered one of the family for as long as he is a guest in the member's house. Each house guest will be charged as only one guest admission for the entire period.
Safety:
1. No one will be allowed in the pool unless a lifeguard is on duty.
2. Lifeguards stands are for the exclusive use of the lifeguards. There will be no unnecessary conversation with the lifeguards while they are on duty.
3. All injuries, however slight, must be reported to the Pool Manager.
4. Non-swimmers shall be the responsibility of the accompanying adults as defined in paragraph 5, General section, of these rules, and shall be expected to stay in the area of the pool.
5. Unauthorized games, pushing, ducking, running, improper use of diving board, or other horseplay is prohibited. The Pool Manager will determine what is unauthorized or safe.
6. Swimming devices and aids approved by Pool Manager may be used in the pool or bathhouse.
7. No glass containers or breakable objects of any kind may be brought into the pool or bathhouse.
8. There will be no swimming in the diving area except that necessary in normal diving procedures. Only one person will be permitted on the diving board at a time. There will be no hanging or bouncing on the diving boards. No one will dive until the preceding diver has appeared on the surface of the waster and is a safe distance away from the proposed point of impact on the water.
9. The pool must be evacuated during electrical storms. Permission to remain in the bathhouse or covered areas of the patio shall be at the discretion of the Pool Manager.
10. There shall be a 15 minute break each hour, from fifteen minutes until the hour, at which time only 18 years and older shall be allowed in the pool or non-swimmers with parent or guardian.
11. Qualified lifeguards will be on duty at the poolside any time the pool is open for swimming with the exception that only one guard is required during break.
12. No smoking or foul language.
